What Northr Identity Does

Northr Identity is a Chrome extension that lets you build a personal AI identity profile and inject relevant context into AI chat interfaces (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini). The extension helps AI tools understand who you are without you repeating yourself every conversation.

Data We Collect

The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

Identity facts you create (your background, goals, preferences, etc.)
Situation profile configurations
Your authentication session token (if signed in)
Usage preferences (recent profiles, sync settings)

Local-First Architecture

By default, all identity data is stored locally on your device in Chrome's extension storage. The extension does not send your data to any third-party service during normal use. Your identity facts are only transmitted to Northr servers when you explicitly sign in and sync.

When Data Is Transmitted

Data is only sent to our servers when you:

Sign in to your Northr account
Click "Refresh" to sync your identity from the cloud
Use Pro features with cloud sync enabled

We do not sell, share, or transmit your identity data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.

What the Extension Can Access

The extension requires access to chatgpt.com, claude.ai, and gemini.google.com to inject your identity context into the chat editor. It does not read, store, or transmit your conversations. It only writes to the editor when you explicitly select a profile.

Data Retention

Your local data persists until you uninstall the extension or click "Sign Out" (which clears all local data). Server-side data can be deleted by contacting us or deleting your account on the Northr dashboard.

Third-Party Services

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage. Supabase's privacy policy applies to data stored on their servers. No other third-party services receive your data.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes will be posted at this URL.
